Ussara Jx

Ustinov x Darinca Z/Darco

2006 Bay Scottish Sport Horse Mare

Ussara Jx aka Sarah was born May 18, 2006. She was bred in Scotland and imported to the US in 2015. She is bay and stands at 16.2 hands. She is a Scottish Sport Horse mare by Ustinov and out of a mare by Darco.

Sarah steadily competed in 1.2 - 1.4 meter jumpers in Ireland, England, Austria, and other parts of the UK. She was ridden by both Edward Doyle and Geoff Billington to several top placings. In classes of 70+ participants, Sarah was often in the top 20! Once she was imported to the US, she was used as a mount for amateurs to teach them the ropes.

Sarah was purchased by Fox Lair in 2020. We had always wanted a Darco lined mare and Sarah seemed like the perfect fit! Along with Darco, Sarah also boasts Landgraf I, Cor de la Bryere, and Nimmerdor. Sarah will be presented to the American Hanoverian Society in 2021 and is currently being considered for the Jumper Breeding Program.

Sarah has been confirmed in foal to Jaguar van Paemel. We are thrilled to be able to breed her and look forward to the results!

Ustinov:

In 2004, the fabulous Ustinov was the champion of the KWPN Stallion Show. He showed his extreme jumping qualities, athletic ability and outstanding hindleg technique at free jumping. Characteristics with which his offspring are also often blessed. Under Caroline Müller the very careful Libero H son proved his qualities in the sport up to international 1.50m level and Ustinov also has a good reputation as a sire. For that reason he received the keur predicate of the KWPN in 2015.

At 1.50/1.60m level multiple Ustinov offspring are in the spotlights, such as Ridley (Daniel Coyle), Grupo Prom Barola (Jose Alfredo Hernandez Ortega), Daylight HDH (Bianca Schoenmakers), Dustin (Fredrik Spetz), Penelope Cruz ( Brian Cournane), Ekimov (Anouk de Ruijter) and Ewinita (Lennard de Boer). A remarkable percentage of Ustinov’s offspring performs at 1.30m level or higher, and that makes for certain that he is a favorable contender in breeding. In the Dutch Sport Horse Sale, 15 of Ustinov’s offspring were sold for a total amount exceeding 1.2 million euros. Ustinov has very good origins, as the son of the legendary World Cup winner Libero H (Jos Lansink), bred out of the UTV vice champion Haifa. She also foaled the KWPN approved stallion Nijinski, who has performed well as a hunter in the USA. A full sister of Ustinov foaled the very meritorious Grand Prix show jumper Sterrehof’s Calimero of Marc Houtzager.

Darco:

For Five consecutive years, the great stallion Darco led the World Breeding Federation of Sport Horse ranking as the best jumping horse progenitor. He currently has the most offspring that competed at Grand Prix level. It is a record which no single sire has ever achieved since the ranking was first developed in 1995. Moreover, Darco is one of the few sires of the present ranking who previously appeared in the original rankings from 1995. In other words, Darco has been at the top for more than fifteen years. Reasons enough to assume, at this time, that Darco is the best jumping horse progenitor ever in show jumping. After Darcos sport career ended, he quickly developed a reputation as a supplier of sport horses and gained world wide influence in the breeding of sport horses. At the time of Darcos inspection, a new trend was being started within the BWP. BWP was the first registry to introduce free jumping as a mandatory part of the stallion approval process, a trend that would be copied by all the other major registries. Darcos performance in this discipline was strong and that made the difference as he was approved based mainly on his performance in the free jumping phase. The contribution of jumping talent to the approval process received more and more weight value.

Nimmerdor:

The absolute most famous KWPN approved sire is the renown Nimmerdor. The already legendary bay stallion was sired by the illustrious 'keur' stallion Farn, whose influence on Dutch breeding in general is deeply felt, which together with his contribution to the sport, is demonstrated by his fourth place in the stallion jumping index. Nimmerdor's dam is 'ster’ Ramonaa. She is a daughter of the thoroughbred Koridon xx and her dam is Friedhilde II who was sired by the reputable Senator, while her lineage also includes Ulfried. During his performance test in 1975 Nimmerdor left no doubt as to his particular specialty; jumping. Preferent Nimmerdor was ridden at international level by Albert Voorn with whom he jumped in various world cups and made an impressive appearance at several important international competitions in for example Berlin, Paris, Gothenburg, Dortmund and London. Nimmerdor was invited to go to the Los Angeles Olympics but his owners declined as they considered it more important at the time that he devoted himself to his breeding activities. Nimmerdor is holding second place in the Dutch jumping index and breeds with a very high degree of heredity reliability [94%]. He is rated very highly in the WBFSH ranking. Nimmerdor is also approved for Holstein. Nimmerdor's enormous influence on breeding is not only felt in the Netherlands, but also in various countries abroad and his reputation is still growing. This can not be a surprise, considering that he has sired more than thirty approved stallions all over the world. When Nimmerdor was withdrawn from the sport, his children were already continuing the great family tradition. Up to Date, Optiebeurs Aldato, Zadok and Ahorn were remarkable international jumpers, but also San Patrignano Avenir, Den Haag, Canadian Colors are famous Nimmerdor children. His son Zapatero is heading for the highest dressage levels. Not to forget Amethist, a Nimmerdor approved son who sired Pan Am team gold  medallist Donna Richardson's Jazzman. His daughters always finish well in front at conformation categories, frequently claiming championships, such as Confidence, Zancara, Barones, Golinda and Dehlia. His progeny have excellent breeding results.
