Contratto x Gi Gi Giselle/Grandom

2016 Bay Hanoverian Mare

Crescenda aka Caddie was born April 18, 2016. She is bay and stands at 16.1 hands. Caddie is by the Holsteiner stallion, Contratto and is out of one of our foundation broodmares, Gi Gi Giselle.

In 2019, Caddie was presented to AHS and earned overall 8 for her inspection, which made her the High-Score Mare! On top of this, Caddie completed her jump chute portion of the MPT and received 8s, which entered her in the Jump Breeding Program! In 2020, Caddie completed her MPT and became Premium Eligible! She is also Premium with Westfalen.

In 2020, Caddie competed in the US Event Horse Futurity under Kate Chadderton. The pair qualified for finals and ended 6th overall in the Futurity! Caddie has now joined our performance team and we will pull embryos from her so she can continue to compete.

Caddie is currently busy with competing. We plan to get embryos from her again in the future.

Contratto:

Contratto is a beautiful and modern Holsteiner stallion with an outstanding work ethic, character, and rideability. His gaits are light and elastic, and are combined with strong athleticism, technique, and bravery. Contratto shows an ease of jumping talent that is exceptional. Recognized in 2007 as a Premium foal by the American Holsteiner Horse Association, Contratto recently completed the 2012 North American 70-Day Stallion Test at Silver Creek Farms. For his jumping ability he received a 9 for free jumping technique, a 9.5 for free jumping scope, and a 9.25 for show jumping. His other scores included a 9 for temperament, a 9 for willingness to work, a 9 for cross country gallop, and a 9 for constitution. Contratto has been accepted as a licensed stallion by five breed registries to date. Based on an outstanding performance at the 70-Day Stallion Test, Contratto has further been accepted by the AHS as an Elite Stallion in the select Hanoverian Jumper Breeding Program.

Contender:

Contender won the 1987 Adelheidsdorf stallion performance test with a jumping index of 146.62. He went on to be the 1-b main premium vice-champion in Oldenburg on the basis of his excellent first crop of foals. He is now one of the most sought after stallions in Germany today. He has produced 80 approved sons, and 59 state premium mares including Riconda, who won the Elite Mare Show at Rastede, in 1993. As of 2006, in Holstein, Oldenburg, Hannover and Rhineland, Contender has produced 782 registered mares, 498 successful offspring in the sport. Contender spent his first three years at stud in Oldenburg before moving to Holstein. Contender has dominated German breeding values for many years now and continues to produce exciting young stallions like Contendro (premium stallion in the approval of 1999, and winner of the performance test at Adelheidsdorf the following year). Contender’s influence spreads throughout Germany, with his two sons, Cordobes I & II acquired by the Westfalien stud stud at Warendorf. Cordobes I was the winner of his performance test in 1998 – scoring almost exactly the same jumping score as his celebrated sire, 146.29! Contender was ranked third in the list of the world's best showjumping sires in 2004.

Grandom:

From the legendary sire Grannus, producer of many successful GP horses and out of a very strong multiple GP and stallion producing dam line comes the black 16.2H stallion, Grandom. Grandom was licensed and stood several years in Belgium before moving to Hanover. Grandom was approved for breeding based on performance and was shown and bred at the same time while in Belgium. He has many clean rounds on his name. Grandom has won and placed, while ridden by our daughter Susie, from the start: Modified Division Champion at Santa Rosa, Modified division res. Champion at Rancho Murieta, Winner Carousel Medal and res. Almaden Medal at Rancho Murieta. Besides wins over fences Grandom was winning and placing in hunter U/S classes. (Oct 2001). The BWP evaluated about 50 of his foals, yearlings and two-year-olds. The report states that his offspring are very uniform, even though they were out of a large variety of mares. They have beautiful front ends, nice round top lines, excellent shoulder angles and very good usage of the hind end. They were well behaved and easy to handle. Several of his talented offspring have been sold internationally. Besides talented jumping horses Grandom produces hunters. He has a very even jumping style and a nice ground-covering trot, from the shoulder, with little knee and hock action.
