Federalist x Scarlett/Sam Steele

2007 Chestnut Hanoverian Mare

Filomena WF aka Mina was born July 9, 2007 in Ontario, Canada. She is chestnut and stands at 16 hands. She is registered Hanoverian and is an Elite mare with AHS as well as a Premium Mare with Westfalen. She has also been accepted into the AHS Jumper Breeding Program.

In 2015 Mina completed her Mare Performance Test for AHS. She received an overall final score of 7.33, and an overall jumping score of 8.

Fox Lair purchased Mina late 2013, with high hopes that Mina would end up being a prized addition to our broodmare band. In 2014,  Mina competed regularly  in local hunter/jumper shows. It was decided in 2015 that she would complete her Mare Performance Test and enter the breeding program. Our own Brandi Smith rode her through a very successful MPT and Mina was then officially retired from her riding career.

Mina is in foal to Light My Fire for 2022. This will be her sixth foal for us! We are super excited about this coming foal and cannot wait to see it!

For Pleasure:

For Pleasure is a two-time Olympic Gold Medal winner, World Champion & Hanoverian Stallion of the year in 2000. He was a member of the gold medal-winning German show jumping team at the1996 Atlanta Olympics, and named German horse of the year in 1995. For Pleasure was ridden for the German team so successfully by Lars Nieberg and more recently by Marcus Ehning. He is one of the most sought after sires in Germany. His two Olympic team gold medals (Altanta and Sydney) make him one of the most successful currently competing breeding stallions. His sire, Furioso II, is considered one of the most influential sport horse sires in the world.  Furioso II, in 1989, was the top sire in Germany based on money earned by his get.   His bloodlines can be found  in almost all recognized international studbooks in Europe. For Pleasure's damsire, Grannus' offspring are successful showjumpers around the globe. The black Anglo Arab Matcho was the winner of the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf in 1992 and has since founded his own stallion line in the Hanoverian breed.

Sam Steele:

Sam Steele: 1995 Black (16.3-hand) stallion. AHS Approved. By Sherlock Holmes (Salvano-Eklatant-Akzent I). Sam Steele placed second in his Performance Test out of 43 stallions, earning the high scores of 141.14 for rideability and 139.76 for Jumping. His dam, SPS Eskalade, has produced three Licensed Stallions as well as top hunters. His sire, Sherlock Holmes, produced eight licensed stallions and 40 State Premium Mares. Sherlock Holmes’ offspring, like himself, are multi-talented as hunters, jumpers and dressage horses, and produce impressive offspring with extravagant movement. Sam Steele inherited these wonderful traits and passes them on to his offspring. The exclusive bloodlines originated in Germany, where they were fine-tuned with excellent results. The offspring of Sam Steele have proven to be top performance horses which demonstrate their elite champion qualities early on, as foals at their inspections. Sam Steele’s daughters include top-scoring “Young North American-bred Mares”. Three of Sam Steele’s daughters have placed first for the Hartwig Prize, and many more have proven to be top hunters, jumpers and dressage horses, competing with great success at top levels. Sam Steele was recently purchased by Ryan Pedigo and Ron Kennedy of Kennedy-Pedigo Farms in Chino Hills, California, where he is currently standing. In addition to being a top breeding stallion, Sam Steele has proven to produce many decorated mares, such as EM Samantha (owned by Ryan Pedigo and Ron Kennedy), EM Spice, EM Scarlett, and EM Symphony. Many of their foals have been champion at their foal inspections, and have matured into top hunters, jumpers and dressage horses competing successfully at top levels.
