Escudo I x Frostlyn/Foxhunter

2005 Dark Bay Hanoverian Mare

 

Elegant aka Eli was born May 23, 2005 in Ontario, Canada. She is dark bay and stands at 16.1 hands. She is registered Hanoverian and will be an Elite mare after the registration of her offspring in 2016. She has also been accepted into the AHS Jumper Breeding Program.

 

In 2009 Eli completed her Mare Performance Test for AHS in Canada. She received an overall final score of 7.36, boasting a score of 8.5 for Jumping Ability and 8's for both Jumping Technique and Rideability.

 

Fox Lair purchased Eli late 2013, knowing that she would eventually be a valuable asset to our breeding program. In 2014,  Eli competed in rated jumper shows, ranging from 1.0m - 1.15m. In the winter of 2014 she was invited to participate in the first Sarasota Modern Pentathlon World Cup. After a successful jumper career, it was decided that it was time for Eli to begin her life as a broodmare.

 

Eli will be bred for an ET to Jaguar van Paemel in 2021. Eli will also be bred to Quidam Blue in 2021!

Escudo I:

 

Escudo I is the 2009 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year. He was the winner of his stallion performance test in 1994 and achieved a convincing 144.90 points in the jumping category. He is a son of the Celle State stallion Espri, who is known worldwide for producing outstanding jumping horses, such as "E.T." Escudo I exhibited phenomenal jumping talent at testing. He won the 1996 Hanoverian Show Jumping Championships in Dobrok in 1996, and the six-year-old Jumper Champion title in 1997. He was also the winner of several show jumping competitions at "S" level in 1999. Escudo I is outstanding in type and expression, is well-muscled and has excellent gaits. So far, Escudo I has produced convincing crops of foals, including several winning foals at regional foal shows and the top price foal of the Verden Spring Auction in 1998. He has a show jumping breed value index of 151 points and 145 for riding horse points. He sires horses with excellent type and a fighting spirit for jumping.

Foxhunter:

 

The typey and expressive Foxhunter is a high quality son of Watzmann, who is renowned as a producer of excellent jumping horses. He is also clearly  stamped by his dam as regards to type and presence. He shows a sound strength of character and good rideability. Foxhunter himself is a very good jumper with an exceptional canter. His offspring are very successful in show jumping competitions. Foxhunter, is by Watzmann, out of an Inschallah mare. He stood at Celle in Germany, and was owned by Spruce Meadows until his passing. He was 5th overall in his stallion performance test at Adelheidsdorf with an overall score of 122.94. In Germany Foxhunter competed early in his career and was the winner of style competitions. A 5 year old offspring sold at the PSI auction for 250,000 DM.

For Pleasure:

 

For Pleasure is a two-time Olympic Gold Medal winner, World Champion & Hanoverian Stallion of the year in 2000. He was a member of the gold medal-winning German show jumping team at the1996 Atlanta Olympics, and named German horse of the year in 1995. For Pleasure was ridden for the German team so successfully by Lars Nieberg and more recently by Marcus Ehning. He is one of the most sought after sires in Germany. His two Olympic team gold medals (Altanta and Sydney) make him one of the most successful currently competing breeding stallions. His sire, Furioso II, is considered one of the most influential sport horse sires in the world.  Furioso II, in 1989, was the top sire in Germany based on money earned by his get.   His bloodlines can be found  in almost all recognized international studbooks in Europe. For Pleasure's damsire, Grannus' offspring are successful showjumpers around the globe. The black Anglo Arab Matcho was the winner of the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf in 1992 and has since founded his own stallion line in the Hanoverian breed.
