Calgary GNZ has a pedigree dominated by some of the most  influential names in Holstein; Calato, Capitol, Landgraf I, Silvester, Silbersee, Capitano, Caretino, Lavall I, Caletto II and the most outstanding stallion of this century; top performer, Casall Ask. Calgary GNZ's owners Finch farm in Australia had this to say about him: "Calgary’s dam Henkel's Countess competed in Germany, USA and Canada having great success before retiring. Her sire is Calato a great sire and rated even higher as a broodmare sire, Countess descends from the famed Stamm 173 (Vase/Ramzes) which is responsible for producing Capital, a stallion who still has a major impact on the sport. Read the Chris Hector book’ The Making of the Modern Warmblood’ and you can see the impact these families have had on the sport. Calgary GNZ has outstanding conformation, he is a very tall athletic horse with flashy markings and a strong colour. Calgary GNZ is going well under saddle showing tremendous movement and athleticism with great work ethic, his free jumping ability is something that needs to be seen. This is very exciting horse of the future, a stallion that combines pedigrees type and ability with a super personality, who is producing magnificent foals. Calgary GNZ has stepped up to mini prix level after a 3 year hiatus after enduring two colic surgeries." Calgary GNZ has everything a breeder could want in a stallion for breeding.

Ladykiller:

Ladykiller was born in England in 1961 and it is fair to say that he was no star of the race track , indeed some might harshly say he was a failure ! But what was the racing worlds loss turned out to be the German Breeders gain, notably the breeders of Holstein. He raced just three times in two years rating a handicap which was fortunately 0.5 kilos more than the minimum required for a thoroughbred stallion to be accepted into German breeding ranks, He went on to sire many notable horses  especially the two sons who became the twin pillars of Holstein,  Landgraf, and Lord. Ladykiller's breeding features all the attributes found in jumping thoroughbred pedigrees. He was average sized and a clearly masculine type with a beautiful head supported by a really heavy neck . He was nicely coupled with good shoulders , a rather flat loin and heavily muscled croup . He had first rate legs and feet for a thoroughbred and was an elastic mover. Out of the 35 approved sons and 195 approved daughters his best produce was those emanating from mares with some thoroughbred blood. He sired few dressage horses but never the less he must be considered one of the most important jumping sires of modern times , his offspring corresponding more to performance jumper type horses.

Calato:

The Holstein Association stallion Calato is one of the most prolific sons of Capitol I in the Holsteiner breed. He is captivating through his beautiful face; large expressive peaceful eyes; his well-set neck; and his well-marked topline. Calato completed his Stallion performance test at the top of his age group in Medingen in 1990. In 1996 he was licensed by Studbook Zangersheide He began his sporting career under Herbert Blöcker, who started him successfully at the German Federal Championships (Bundeschampionart). Under the Danish junior Jennifer Pedersen Foghd he continued his career. Together, they won the Scandinavian and the Danish Championship of Young Riders and were also victorious in Nations Cup for the Danish team. Calato has exceptional jumping genes. Not only from his father Capitol I but as well his mother, the Landgraf I daughter Vanessa III. She was champion mare of their year at the elite mare show under Marco Dierk and jumped successfully at S Level (1.60m) with Thies Luther. From Calato’s motherline come the successful international showjumping horses Spiga (Leopold v. Asten), Aldato (Henrik Emil), Kira (Ludo Philippaerts) and the Caprivi Stallions and Loxgraf, Q-Verdi, Cicero, and Cavalier Royale.
